An entrepreneur and startup business consultant, Rob has over 13 years of experience in the online, financial services, consumer electronics, and apparel industries. His work has contributed to funding several projects, scaling successful businesses, and increasing revenue and profitability.
Rob currently advises and builds startups with at Empowered Startups, a Vancouver, B.C. incubator and is also CEO and Co-Founder of Chowza.ca. In the past, Rob was Head of Strategy at Kit and Ace, where he was part of the leadership team that grew the company from 1 to 60 stores, established 3 international offices, and developed a globally recognized brand within a year and a half.
Rob is an MBA graduate from UBC’s Sauder School of Business, specializing in Strategy and Entrepreneurship, and holds a degree from the University of Toronto in Economics and Political Science.
With over 8 years of experience in strategic management, corporate finance, private equity, and operations across various industries, Justin brings a sophisticated and diverse perspective to every project, evaluation, and engagement.
At Best Buy Canada, Justin was a key player in the consolidation of the Future Shop and Best Buy brands, resulting in a capital spend of ~$130M and an average annual increase of ~$80M in operating profit. Currently, he leads acquisition efforts at a local Vancouver real estate developer and has successfully executed over $65M worth of acquisitions to date.
Justin is an MBA graduate from UBC’s Sauder School of Business, specializing in Finance and Supply Chain Management and holds a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from UBC. In addition to this, he is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charterholder and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA).
